Get Something Published

And this blog doesn’t count. I recently found a bunch of old notebooks that I was using when I was actually writing 15 minutes or more a day. There was actually some decent stuff there. More ideas than completed pieces but a ton of ideas. I thought about making item 2 more specific and require myself to publish an actual novel, but in keeping with my not good enough tendencies, just being published will be enough. Don’t get me wrong a novel would be great and hopefully isn’t out of the question, but with a 100 things may not be important enough to put at the top of the list.

The next question becomes what do I write about, but I think I will leave that one to the notebooks and divine inspiration.

Number One: Start a Giving Circle

This is something I have been thinking about since I learned about them in my resource development class last year. The really cool thing about this one is that it will require a great deal of energy and planning (thereby taking up my time) as well as will get BFF and BFF2 involved. It can also be a way to get connected to some other amazing women who want to make the world a little better. There are some many things this could spin off into- there could be sponsored, sacrifices and sponsored, events.
This one is number one not only because of the time and energy involved but because I am so excited about it.

So, going to try this whole blogging thing again. This time I am not giving the address to anyone, less pressure that way. I am thinking this blog can be my online chronicle of my 100 things list, inspired by Mr. Ted Leonsis, the best sports owner ever. I have read other things that suggest creating a list of 30 things you want to do before you die, or a bucket list ala Freeman and Nicholson, but I like the idea of a 100-item list. It implies that I will live a long life, otherwise how will I possibly complete all 100 things. It also is less pressure intensive, because I can have a few silly one and not feel as if I am wasting my items.

I am still trying to decide if each entry should be an item on the list with an explanation of why it is on the list, or if this should just be a running chronicle of me making the list. I like the first idea because it is so much more organized and streamlined, but with that comes the pressure of perfection again. The second idea has much less pressure and could lend itself to the addition of more than 100 items, as well as a chronicling of when something gets checked off. Aaaahhhh, we’ll see.

I have already started a bucket list, on old-fashioned paper with an old-school pen and will probably steal some of those ideas and list them here. I have also already listed some thing on the website 40 things but that became too pressure filled what with people reading it all the time. Again, I will probably steal some of those things also.

Anyway, enough rambling about the set-up. Today I begin.
